Early Victorian Carved One Length Monkey

A really unusual and good example of a one length softwood carving from the late Georgian to early Victorian period

Early Victorian Carved One Length Monkey

The lips tinted red, the exposed teeth worn white and a gold coloured collar with a small cravat again showing red in areas.

A cane that prompts you to to look to  Charles Darwin during the same period and  his theories of evolution

Georgian carved monkey man

The bark on the cane remains in tack with little wear. The study itself is free from damage but has age related wear.

This is a historical  item for collection  and not designed for usage. We have sympathetically cleaned and  sealed the study to preserve the cane for future generations.
